Trouble's New Kids

Trouble must have heard the rumor that we were thinking of retiring her from breeding after this year because she decided this last birth was going to be a special one. She had two really beautiful doelings this year. Trouble has always had twins except for her very first kidding when she had a single but she has never had two girls before and they couldn't be prettier! She has always been a great mother as seen in this video of the proud mom and her two new kids only a few minutes after they were born.

Trouble is not the only doe that has kidded the last week or so. There is now 15 new baby goats on the farm. So far it has definitely been a doe year here. The count right now is 12 doelings to only 3 bucklings. We are going to have to paint the barn pink!

Trouble's twins are precious, and hearing them bleat on the video just melts my heart. Isn't it wonderful to be able to surround yourself with such blessings? Congratulations on all the new girls.

How wonderful Jennifer! I'd say you got the two-for-one black sheep special, but I would never insult Trouble or her babies that way.

Goats rule!

PS: The video wouldn't run for me. I'm crushed!

Oh, wow, the farm has been a busy place! Major congratulations, and thanks for the video. I'd had my sound muted, but turned it back on just so I could hear the babies.

Thank you all for the kind comments. I am glad the video did finally play for you Alix! Since Trouble might be retiring this year I am thinking of keeping both of her doelings, but of course I can't keep them all. There are still more does to kid too. Guess you will just have to make a trip to Kansas and pick a couple out? ;O)

Oh my, pink stalls fershur! :)

I will have to watch the videos later... my mom dropped by on Sunday, intending to only spend one night on her way to Ohio from Arizona... now she has decided to stay through Saturday, since my hubby is out of town all month. It's a good thing, because together we get all kinds of projects done-- like painting rooms and stuff. :)

How far are you from me? Not to be brash or forward, but I would absolutely adore to make a drive one day while hubby is gone, and meet you and your sweet lil goats. Let me know what ya think.... and no pressure here. I totally understand if perhaps this is a bad time of year for you.

Hope you had a lovely weekend and your week has started off well!
